Path

“You will recognize your own path when you come upon it,
because you will suddenly have
all the energy
and imagination
you will ever need.”
– Jerry Gillies

Location: Norway, Sjusjøen.

One Step At a Time

“Each night, when I go to sleep,
I die.
And the next morning, when I wake up,
I am reborn.”
Mahatma Gandhi

One Step At A Time

Location: Brasil, Rio de Janeiro, Estádio Mario Filho – Maracanã. I’m not into football, but visiting one of the Worlds largest stadiums really made an impression on me.

Looking around the stadium I was surprised to find it not completely empty. Almost hidden by a shade and hard to distinguish among some 78.000 thousand chairs, there he was – the janitor. And what a task… one chair at a time. Although he hopefully was not about to clean all the chairs himself, the thought totally blew my mind and this glimpse has stayed with me ever since: no task is too big! Just have to take it one step (chair) at a time…

Where To Look

“Intuition will tell the thinking mind
where to look next.”
Jonas Salk

Location: Norway, Lillomarka (Isdammen). Up until 1968 blocks of ice was cut out from the pond during wintertime to supply the city (Oslo) with ice for refrigerating.
A foggy day as turned the pond to into a beautiful mystical place.

Go On!

“Whatever you habitually think yourself to be, that you are.
You must form, now, a greater and better habit;
you must form a conception of yourself as a
being of limitless power, and habitually think that you are that being.
It is the habitual, not the periodical thought that decides your destiny.”
Wallace D. Wattles

Go On!

Location: Argentina, Uspallata. A roadcross, that was my first and only thougth coming to this small town surrounded by mountain peeks all around, stretching into the sky and as high as Aconcagua at 6 962 m. The queue of trucks on their way to Chile seems endless. Our guide took us hiking into areas we’d probably gotten lost on ourselves in no time.
This path we found right outside of our hotel however, lead us safely into town, away from the highway and surrounded by the most beautifull scenery.

Let it Go

“The past is finished. Learn from it and let it go.
The future is not even here yet. Plan for it, but do not waste your time worrying about it.
Worrying is worthless. When you stop ruminating about what has already happened, when you stop worrying
about what might never happen, then you will be in the present moment.
Then you will begin to experience joy in life.”

Brian Weiss

On Dry Land

Location: Texas (USA), Galveston. A couple of weeks has passed after Hurricane Ike made landfall September 13th 2008 making it the costliest hurricane in Texas history. Ike was blamed for at least 195 deaths, mainly in the U.S. and Haiti. I hadn’t been to the U.S. for several years, timing was coincidental.

The impressions left me after seeing the devastations caused by Ike was beyond imagination. Like a boat left to rest along i45. My main thought was, how is it possible to move on from here? How can they?
They must have let go.

At Rest

“The trick is in what one emphasizes.
We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy.
The amount of work is the same.”
Carlos Castaneda

At Rest

Location: Seychelles, Mahé. Fishing boat waiting for high waters, however making it faster to cross the bay not having to walk around – just cross it!

Let’s Win!

“You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.”
Michael Jordan

Location: Norway, Linderudkollen. On one of the many small hills in Lillomarka (one of several recreational areas surrounding Oslo), behind the ski jump, the wooden table where people of all ages sit down to enjoy the view of the city. Some have left permanent traces of their visit. One of them stands out, maybe crafted out of a ski jumper with that in mind: “win” !

Take A Look

“What you are looking for is
what is looking.”

Location: France, Val Thorens – Meribel. Heading up Mont Du Vallon 2 952 m.

Look Beyond

Do I need to make a change or
do I want what is awaiting me.

Location: Italy, Lake Garda. A beautiful and peaceful evening. There is a storm coming.
